AIRtec’s Megan Deaton and Christian Jarboe Complete Emerging Leaders Program

Leonardtown, Md. (June 27, 2022) – Leadership Southern Maryland, the non-profit organization dedicated to building a diverse cadre of informed and engaged leaders from Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s Counties, announced today that Megan Deaton and Christian Jarboe at AIRtec, Inc. have completed the Emerging Leaders Program. Deaton and Jarboe were two of 19 applicants chosen to participate in the second year of this new program focused on professional and community leaders in Southern Maryland who are either new to the region or early in their careers.

The inaugural Leadership Southern Maryland Emerging Leaders Program class completed six sessions over the course of 10 months, each designed to empower participants to foster and refine their leadership understanding and abilities, while advancing their self-discovery, teamwork, and networking skills. The class also worked in groups to complete a culminating community service project.

“The 19 individuals representing our first class of the Leadership Southern Maryland Emerging Leaders Program have demonstrated their commitment to self-discovery and professional development, their eagerness to be engaged and impactful citizens of our region, and their flexibility as we navigated this new curriculum amidst a global pandemic,” said Denise Foster, Executive Director, Leadership Southern Maryland. “The members of the class have honed their own leadership skills while making connections with some of the most influential people in our region. We are excited to now watch them apply all they’ve gained to their professional and community work.”
