AIRTEC Aircraft Selected by Vantage Aviation to Support Multi-State LiDAR Infrastructure Contract
In a strategic collaboration focused on airborne power infrastructure mapping, AIRTEC is partnering with Vantage Aviation LLC USA in the execution of a large-scale, multi-state LiDAR mapping contract led by Vantage Aviation.
Vantage Aviation, as the prime contractor and operational lead on this specialist infrastructure program, selected AIRTEC to supply a Cessna Caravan 208B EX aircraft platform to support the mission. AIRTEC’s proven fixed-wing platform provides the reliability and performance required for sustained, high-precision airborne data collection.
The aircraft is being utilized as part of a next-generation LiDAR deployment designed and executed by Vantage Aviation to collect high-resolution data across thousands of miles of critical energy infrastructure. This initiative reflects Vantage Aviation’s established reputation in airborne mission execution, sensor integration, and large-scale infrastructure delivery. Under the contract, Vantage Aviation is responsible for mission architecture, LiDAR system integration, regulatory coordination, flight operations, data acquisition oversight, client interface, and overall program delivery. AIRTEC’s aircraft capability complements Vantage Aviation’s operational leadership, enabling an efficient and scalable solution for statewide infrastructure modernization.
Transforming Grid Intelligence Through Aviation
Traditionally, utilities have relied on manual inspections, helicopter patrols, and legacy documentation to monitor poles, lines, transformers, and vegetation encroachment. Under Vantage Aviation’s leadership, this program replaces fragmented inspection models with a comprehensive, high-precision 3D digital twin of statewide grid infrastructure.
• Faster, More Accurate Outage Location — Utilities can deploy repair crews with greater precision and reduced downtime.
• Enhanced Storm Resilience — Detailed vegetation modeling supports targeted mitigation strategies and infrastructure readiness.
• Predictive Failure Modeling — Engineers can simulate stress scenarios and proactively address vulnerabilities.
