Operation Ice bridge Antarctica

Welcome home to the NASA Ice Bridge Antarctica crew who successfully completed the first NASA P-3 Antarctic ice survey missions. Airtec flight crew and ground support teams were deployed to assist the NASA Wallops Aircraft Office with operations originating from McMurdo Station.

USAF Operationally Responsive Spacecraft (ORS-3)

Twenty-nine satellites including the first CubeSat built by high school students were recently launched from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport (MARS) at the NASA Wallops Island launch facility. Airtec radar surveillance and datalink aircraft were able to support and provide range clearance and range safety support for another “first” at Wallops Island.

X-47 CVN-71 Telemetry

Our telemetry relay services were called upon recently to support X-47 CVN operations while aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt. Airborne telemetry relay provided the test team real-time data, voice communications and video of launch and recovery operations.

F-35 Weapons Separation Testing

NASA Antares Launch with Cygnus Spacecraft

Airtec radar surveillance assets recently assisted with the launch of the first Orbital Sciences Antares launch vehicle with the Cygnus spacecraft. This mission will provide essential re-supply to the International Space Station.

NASA Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer (LADEE)

Congratulations to the NASA Wallops LADEE team for their successful launch of a Minotaur V rocket and payload bound for Lunar orbit. Independence Day at NASA, Wallops Island, VA

Airtec surveillance aircraft, with the use of dual, over the horizon radar datalink systems successfully supported a July 4th launch of two NASA sounding rockets from Wallops Island, VA. The rockets will help study the ionospheric dynamo effect.
