Did you know AIRTEC currently provides FAR 91.411 and FAR 91.413 inspections under our FAA Approved Part 91 Operations? FAR 91.411 requires periodic testing and inspection of the aircraft’s altimeter system and altitude reporting equipment to ensure it is accurate, while FAR 91.413 requires periodic testing and inspection of the aircraft’s transponder system. These regulations, applicable to aircraft operating under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR), are crucial for safety by guaranteeing reliable altitude data for both Pilots and Air Traffic Control (ATC). The tests verify the integrity of the pitot static system and the altitude encoder, which provides the altitude information to the transponder.
Our highly skilled A&P Mechanics have earned this certification capability, allowing them to do inspections on a large variety of airframes, including drones. Currently, there are over 85 types of platforms that we can inspect, everything from Cessna, Beechcraft, Cirrus, Mooney, Piper, and the latest Edge Autonomy drones. More can be added with Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) approval so we can essentially inspect the altimeter, altitude reporting, and transponder systems of anything that flies!
Safety is our number one company core value and our top priority. We have been doing these pitot-static system safety inspections for more than a decade and can perform inspections for government organizations, educational institutions, scientific agencies, industry partners, and private owners. Inspections reduce the risk of in-flight failures, costly repairs, and help maintain aircraft value and reliability, critical for any flight and mission.
Headquartered within the AeroPark Innovation District at the St. Mary’s County Airport in Maryland, a few miles from the Patuxent River Naval Air Station, we have state-of-the-art hangar facilities and equipment optimized for rapid integration and performance, including the latest inspection testing equipment.
