AIRTEC has proven expertise in next-gen AI sensor testing for critical safety, security, and defense missions. Our team has completed several successful airborne sensor research and development projects providing real-time operations and state-of-the-art equipment integration and testing supporting the Department of War, other government agencies, and commercial customers.
This all-environment domain awareness field testing provides critical data enabling decision-makers to choose the right next-gen equipment to meet future mission demands. We are excited to continue to advance U.S. military and other critical missions with our aircraft platforms, flight and sensor operations, and our team’s unmatched technical expertise. AIRTEC’s Project Managers, Pilots, and A&P Mechanics support operations from beginning to end, wherever needed across the globe. Our agile team works with a network of industry aerospace partners to rapidly engineer and custom-build mount brackets, strut mounts, and other modifications. Our team then obtains all the required safety certifications.
Equipment tested on AIRTEC platforms includes a Hyperspectral Optical Radar(HSOR) – an autonomous, real time, wide area, optical airborne search sensor capable of detecting and classifying all contacts and tracking all targets during day or night operations in degraded visual conditions in sea and land operations. These sensors have 30X the coverage over existing sensors. Other smart/AI sensors tested help increase situational awareness and reduce operator burden by automating the labor-intensive task of searching for small objects of interest in vast and challenging environments. Equipped with the latest in multispectral sensor technology and powered by sophisticated AI and on-board processing, these sensors scan search areas and alert operators, or cue networked devices with image chips and geospatial intelligence. AIRTEC platforms have also been used to test a camera with wide area surveillance capability and onboard GPS/INS for accurate, real-time vehicle and target location, HD digital video, superior geolocation, embedded video processing, onboard maritime AI for wide area boat detection, and a multi-mode, multi-domain SAR/MTI radar.
During one mission, over 30 hours were flown with data collected at 10,000, 15,000, and 27,000 feet, setting a new operational altitude record for an HSOR sensor. During another mission, our aircraft platform was modified to test a total of 4 sensors within a very short timeframe.
